Created at the beginning of the 90s, the Galleria Carla Sozzani is, at its creation, a completely unique place.
Located at Corso Como in Milan, this place founded by Carla Sozzani is one of the first concept-stores in the world, making its founder one of the pioneers of this type of stores. At its creation the gallery combined an art gallery and several shops which sold high end fashion and design goods.
Carla Sozzani sees this place as a space dedicated to the development of culture and art. Several forms of art are reunited in this unique place such as photography, fashion, fine arts and applied art.
The gallery was inaugurated with a first exhibition dedicated to the American photographer Louise Dahl-Wolfe. Will follow 250 exhibitions showcasing a variety of artists such as Man Ray, Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle, Jean Prouvé, Loretta Lux, Paco Rabanne or Robert Polidori.
This atypical place was granted the denomination of “foundation” in 2016 and established itself in the 18th arrondissement of Paris in 2019.
Located in an old 18th century industrial building, like its Milanese model this new place is dedicated to art, offering the possibility to organize cultural events like exhibitions, fashion shows or photo and videos shoots.
In addition to these two galleries, the Carla Sozzani Foundation includes two other galleries in Seoul and New York.
